Priority to Select Major Programme of Study

HKDSE students who obtain score of 25 or above will have the priority to choose their preferred Major programme on the condition that the students maintain a cGPA of 3.0 in Year 1 of study and fulfil the specific Major programme requirements.

The Priority to Select Major Programme of Study will be cancelled with effect from the 2020 intake, in keeping with the introduction of the Hybrid Admission Scheme.

Major Assignment Procedures

Year 1 broad-based BA students should apply for Major programmes via the BUniPort from March 1-15, 2019, please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to BUniPort
  2. Click "My e-Application" > "Online e-Application" > "Registration & Study Progression" > “Application/Declaration of Major”
  3. You will be required to prioritize the programmes from 1 to 6, where 1 indicates your most-preferred programme while 6 indicates the least-preferred programme.

You will be invited to indicate your Major programme preferences again from June 11 to 13, 2019 after the release of academic results of Semester 2, 2018/19. You will be notified by email again near the event in June.

The final result of your assigned Major programme will be released via BUniPort around late June or early July 2019. Please note that there is no guarantee that you will get admitted to your most-preferred programme.
